- Consuming lemon juice daily has been found to reduce the formation of kidney stones and inhibit stone formation

- Lemonade made with hot water, infused with mint and sweetened with honey is a common remedy for sore throat.


- Historically, Because lemons have twice as much vitamin C as an orange, Lemon juice was used by the navy in fighting scurvy and long sea voyages became possible by preventing scurvy which is results from vitamin C deficiency.


- Lemon eye bath has been said to Cure cataracts & early stages of pinguecula


- Lemon juice helps in Constipation and diarrhea relief by cleansing the digestive tract and allowing food to digest properly.


- Lemon contains a high level of Vitamin C which acts as powerful antioxidant against harmful environmental toxins, improves protection of the immune system and reduces the risk of hypertension.


- Lemon juice Relieves dry eyes and eyestrain
According to Dr. William Apt, a leading eye specialist in the mid-1900s, recommended the Lemon Juice Eye Bath. He stumbled upon this secret from a 105 year old man. - Lemon has been found to have beneficial properties for people living with diabetes due to the soluble fiber and the high amount of vitamin C contained in it. Soluble fiber (High-fiber) diets have been shown to reduce blood sugar. The higher the fiber intake, the more benefit may be realized.
Culinary Uses of lemon
-Lemon zest, the grated outer rind of the fruit, is used to add flavor to baked goods such as cakes, cookies, puddings, and other dishes.


-Lemon juice is Used to marinate fish (Check out the marinated fish garnished with lemons in my fried rice recipe) where its acid neutralizes amines in fish by converting them into non-volatile ammonium salts, and meat, where the acid partially hydrolyzes tough collagen fibers, tenderizing the meat.
