Let's profile the chefs expected at the GTBank food & Drink fair in "MeetTheChefs"(Photos)

We're going to have two public holidays on the 1st and 2nd of May...Woohooo!!!!! Where are you all going to be?. Come May 1st and 2nd, Lagosians will be treated to the finest of Nigerian and intercontinental cuisine as all roads lead to Oniru, Victoria Island. 
The event which is designed to showcase Nigeria’s emerging food industry as well as offer a wide variety of cuisines, will be headlined by two critically acclaimed international chefs - Marcus Samuelsson and Raphael Duntoye. Ethiopian born and Swedish raised, Samuelsson is a James Beard award-winning chef, New York Times best-selling author, and a judge for the highly rated TV show, Chopped. While Nigerian born Duntoye is the chef patron and owner of Le Petite Maison in London, Dubai and Miami.
The GTB Food & Drink Fair will also feature a series of cooking Master Classes covering the latest culinary trends. With that said, here are leading chefs you should expect at the GTB Food & Drink Fair..........

1.
Meet Marcus 'Joar' Samuelsson: He is an Ethiopian-born, Swedish-raised chef and restaurateur. At 24, he became executive chef of Aquavit, and soon after that became the youngest ever to receive a three-star restaurant review from The New York Times. In 2003 he was named "Best Chef: New York City" by the James Beard Foundation. Marcus will be headlining the#GTBankFoodDrink fair.

Meet Chef Iquo Ukoh: The brain behind popular food blog, 1qfoodplatter.com, Ukoh was until recently the Executive Director, Marketing Services, Nestle Nigeria. A trained dietitian from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Ukoh is all about healthy eating which is what inspired her blog - a need to share food and heath tips to create variety and excitement for a sensible healthy lifestyle.

Meet Chef Patron Raphael Duntoye: Following a course change from Engineering, Duntoye joined Butlers Wharf Chef Schooland embarked on a journey that would lead him to become Chef Patron of an award winning kitchen at La Petite Maison. Raphael spent a defining 5 years working at the side of the famed Pierre Koffman - whose proteges include Gordon Ramsay of Hell's Kitchen and MasterChef fame, at the 3 Michelin Star, La Tante Claire.

Armed with the slogan “Where Great Minds Create Great Food” Meet Tiyan Alile . She believes she is capable of teaching anyone to create great food. She works with the principle that we create with our minds and interpret with our hands so she taps into the residual creativity in everyone’s mind and translates it to great food in the kitchen. From the four walls of her mothers kitchen to days of culinary experiments, she went on to set up “Tees Hot Bites” in 1999, a flaming grill barbecue pit in the Ibadan Golf Club where her secret recipe barbecue sauce was a super hit.

Meet Gbubemi Fregene aka Chef Fregz: A product of the world acclaimed Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute, Paris, Chef Fregz quickly made a name for himself in the food circles early on. His brand was birthed out of a need to communicate and connect with the young, upwardly mobile crowd he services.

Meet Chef Atim Ukoh: Popularly known as Afrolems, Atim is an African food blogger with a specialization in Nigerian Food. Atim’s main focus is to stylize African food so it can be internationalized. She aims to educate her followers with kitchen tips, cooking know-hows and interesting recipes from all over Africa and modifications of recipes from other cultures.

Meet Chef Alex Oke: Owner at XO Boutique Bakery and an instructor at the Culinary Academy, Oke is a Lagos based chef who is passionate about bread, pastry and confections. He trained in classical/contemporary French cuisine at the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts (PICA) in Vancouver, Canada and also worked for a period at Lear Faye in East Vancouver before returning to Nigeria.

Meet Chef Ozoz Sokoh: Popularly known as "kitchen butterfly", Sokoh is a food blogger, mother and geologist with a passion for cooking, photography and travel. She is best known for her modernized and creative adaptations of traditional, African and world foods. 
Ozoz is very passionate about food in its entirety – cooking, eating, dreaming, writing and photographing it.

9. 
Meet Chef Uzo Orimalade: Before Orimalade made a name in the food industry via Uzo's Food Labs, offering consulting services to the food, beverage & hospitality industry, cooking classes and demos to individuals and corporates, she spent over a decade working in management consulting and investment banking sectors of corporate America and Nigeria. An avid gardener, she runs The Garden From Uzo’s Food Labs, an organic garden that sells organic cut produce and seedlings. She also runs Cupcake Couture Lagos, which provides retail and corporate clients with premium baked goods.

Meet Chef Micheal Elegbede: Armed with a degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America and haven worked in the critically acclaimed Eleven Madison Park restaurant. Elegbede is on a mission to rediscover and tell the story of Nigeria's food culture with his personal touch focusing on the unique flavours, ingredients and cooking traditions of Nigeria.
