Potato dogs

Who says hot dogs have to be made of just bread with sausage in the middle. Have you tried using potatoes instead? This yummy snack right here is one snack you'd truly enjoy making. To add my little twist to it, i added some peppers to the mix. You never can tell what you might come up with when you try something new. 
These potato dogs with an outer layer of mashed potatoes mixed with peppers and an inner layer of cheese and sausage is the way to go. It's a tasty snack which is mouth watering and filling at the same time. Want to learn how to make this? Keep reading.



Potato Dogs

Ingredients:
12 Medium Sized Potatoes 
1 Cup Potato flour
1 small red bell pepper
1 small green bell pepper
• Salt - To taste
• 5 Small Sausages
5 Cheese Slices
• 3 Cups Cooking oil - For deep frying

Other Things Needed
• Cling Film
• 5 Bamboo Skewers

    Directions:::
    Step 1: Peel the potatoes and place in a medium sized pot. Add Salt to taste and water into the pot and boil for about 10 minutes or till the potato gets soft. Add the sausages to the pot with potatoes and leave to boil for 5 minutes more. Turn off the burner

    Step 2: Place the boiled potatoes in a bowl and mash with a fork. Add the chopped peppers and potato flour then mix to combine. You can work into it with your hand making sure you have a stiff dough. 

    Step 3: Pick a bamboo skewer and insert it through a boiled sausage. Repeat this for the rest of the sausages then wrap each cheese slice around each sausage. Place the cling film on a flat surface then scoop the potato dough onto the film. Place the cheese wrapped sausages in the middle of the potato dough and wrap the dough around the sausage. Repeat for the rest of the batch. 

    Step 4: Place the potato dogs in the refrigerator and leave to sit for 3 hours. his helps it set properly. 

    Step 5: Heat up the cooking oil in a pan and bring out the potato dogs from the refrigerator. remove the cling film and deep fry the potato dogs till golden brown. 

    Step 6: Drizzle with ketchup and Serve with your favorite beverage. Enjoy!
